Born in Saint Michael, Barbados, Rihanna moved to the U. S. At the age of sixteen to follow a recording career under the steering of record producer Evan Rogers. She afterward concluded a contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for then-label head Jay-Z. In 2005, Rihanna released her debut studio album, Music of the Sun, which topped in the top 10 of the Poster advert 200 and features the Poster advert hot hundred hit single “Pon de Replay”.

The album got voted in for 9 Grammy Awards, winning Best Rap / Sung Partnership for “Umbrella,” which features Jay-Z.
